Description

Marie International School (MIS) is seeking an exceptional Homeroom Teacher to join our growing Primary Department. This position begins with training in mid-August, with the school term starting in September 2025.

We are looking for a passionate, skilled educator who can confidently lead high-level learners in core subjects including Language Arts, Math, Science, Global Studies, and Wellbeing. Many of our students are already highly proficient in English, so we are looking for someone with the experience and confidence to extend and challenge them. The right candidate is not only an expert teacher, but also a team player who thrives in dynamic environments, adapts to change, and brings a proactive and positive energy to the workplace.

Marie International School is an all-English international school with campuses in Omotesando (Tokyo), Shukugawa (Hyogo) and Matsuyama (Ehime). What You’ll Do:
– Teach a full homeroom curriculum in English, including Language Arts, Math, Science, Global Studies, and Wellbeing
– Design and deliver engaging lessons that challenge high-performing students
– Plan and deliver afterschool classes and possibly subject-specific classes as needed
– Personalize learning using evidence-informed teaching strategies and assessments
– Collaborate closely with fellow educators to maintain a cohesive learning environment
– Communicate effectively with parents and participate in school events (e.g. Sports Day, Halloween, Summer School)
– Uphold respectful, clear classroom management and contribute to a positive school culture
– Actively engage in ongoing training and school development initiatives

Who We’re Looking For:
– Fluent/native-level English speaker
– Certified educator with a teaching license or degree in Education
– Minimum 2 years of experience in primary/elementary education
– Based in or willing to relocate to the Kanto area
– A flexible, growth-driven mindset and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative school culture
