Faculty Position in English Education

The University of Osaka, Center for Multilingual Education

The University of Osaka is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Specially Appointed Associate Professor to teach English as a Foreign Language to undergraduate students. The successful candidate will be a part of the English Education Group within the Center for Multilingual Education, starting April 1, 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate English classes (approximately nine 90-minute classes per week).
• Engage in collaborative research and other professional services.

Qualifications:

• Native-level fluency in English.
• A Master’s or higher degree in English language education, linguistics, literature, or a related field.
• A minimum of two years of teaching experience at a university or secondary educational institution.
• At least two publications in your field.

Preferred: Advanced business-level proficiency in Japanese.

• Position: Specially Appointed Associate Professor (Full-Time)

• Term: The initial contract runs from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2028. Contracts may be extended based on performance and work continuity, with a maximum cumulative term of 10 years.
