Recruitment Information: Fixed-term Full-time Lecturer (English Teacher)

Ritsumeikan Junior and Senior High School, located in Kyoto, is seeking a qualified Fixed-term Full-time Lecturer (English Teacher) for the 2026 academic year. We are looking for one or more passionate educators to join our team.

 

Position and Qualifications

Position Title: Fixed-term Full-time Lecturer (English Teacher) Number of Openings: One or more

Required Qualifications:

  • Exceptional English Skills: Applicants must have excellent pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation, as well as strong overall language proficiency, writing skills, and accurate grammar usage. Public speaking and voice projection skills are also essential.
  • Experience: Must have completed undergraduate studies and have relevant academic or professional experience by March 31, 2026.
  • Teaching Certification: A recognized English teaching qualification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, DELTA) is required by March 31, 2026.
  • Valid Japanese Visa: Must hold a valid visa to live and work in Japan.
  • Adaptability: The ability to adapt to living and working in a new cultural environment is a key requirement.

We especially encourage candidates with experience teaching content courses in English, such as English literature, academic writing, social studies, mathematics, or science.

Screening Stages:

  1. First Stage: Document screening based on the submitted application materials.
  2. Second Stage: A sample lesson and interview will be held on the evening of Friday, September 26, or during the day on Saturday, September 27. Note: We do not provide transportation allowance for the interview. Final hiring is contingent upon passing a health examination.

Terms of Employment

Contract Period:

  • This is a one-year contract from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The contract may be renewed a maximum of two times upon mutual agreement.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Yearly Salary:
    • First year: 4,704,000 yen
    • Second year: 5,012,400 yen
    • Third year: 5,334,000 yen
  • The yearly salary is paid in 12 equal monthly installments.
  • Allowances: Commuting allowance, extracurricular activities advisor allowance, chaperone allowance, and overtime work allowance are provided.

  • Workplace: Ritsumeikan Junior and Senior High School (Nagaokakyo Campus)
  • Start Date: April 1, 2026
