We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Professor to join the Faculty of Languages and Cultures at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position with a start date of April 1, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in foreign language education, English linguistics, or applied linguistics.
- Teach up to ten 90-minute English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes per year, primarily for undergraduate students.
- Develop curriculum and teaching materials.
- Assist with entrance examinations, departmental administration, and committee work.
Job Requirements
- Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent research record in a relevant field. ABD candidates are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience: Prior experience teaching English at the university level.
- Proficiency: Native or working-level proficiency in Japanese is an advantage but not required.
- Salary: Annual salary ranges from ¥5 million to ¥7 million, based on experience and qualifications.
