Position Title: Full-time Lecturer

Department: Faculty of Letters, Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, Research Group: Language and Culture

Field of specialization: Linguistics, Literature, English Education, Comparative Cultural Studies, Cross-cultural Communication, Area Studies or related fields of study

Job Description and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching specialized subjects within the Faculty of Letters, such as “English Communication A/B” and other courses focusing on intercultural understanding. Additionally, the lecturer will teach university-wide common subjects, including “Practical English” and “Presentation English.” The role also involves supervising undergraduate students in their research and advising and assisting international students.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree or higher.
  • Native English proficiency is required, and Japanese proficiency relevant to the university’s administrative activities is preferred.
  • Must be able to teach specialized subjects and supervise students at the undergraduate level.
  • Must be able to advise and assist international students and those who wish to study abroad.

Employment Details:

  • Employment Type: Regular, full-time employee (non-tenured, non-tenure track).
  • Contract Period: Fixed-term contract of five years, with no possibility of renewal. There is a probationary period of six months.
  • Salary: Annual salary system, ranging from 6 million to 8 million yen.
  • Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM, with a one-hour break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The position is subject to the Discretionary Labor System for professional work.
  • Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, in principle.
