We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Home Economics teacher to join our team for the April 2025 to March 2026 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, generally teaching students in Years 7-10 who are bilingual or native speakers of English. However, the English level of students varies. Responsibilities include planning and implementing home economics lessons, targeting specific skills and concepts, managing classroom behavior to keep all students engaged in the lesson, and providing individual support and feedback for their students. Teachers are also expected to teach PBL (Problem- and Project-Based Learning) style lessons.
Skills and Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
– Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching home economics at the middle school and/or high school level
– Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and principles
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Ability to create engaging lesson plans that promote student learning and understanding
– Proficient in technology use for instruction purposes
– Proper visa status and Tokyo-area residence strongly preferred (will renew/sponsor visa)
