UST is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Music Teacher who shares our values and would like to be a part of a developing school.
Background Requirements:
Bachelors in Music or Music Education; Masters’s Degree preferred.
Certification as a Music Teacher.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Music teacher
Ability to play and teach various instruments
Experience in teaching choir, band, orchestra, etc.
Experience in planning, rehearsing, and directing musical performances
Experience in performance standards and familiarity with standards-based education
Successful results of a criminal background check.
Essential Responsibilities
Further develop and administer a child-centric, integrated music curriculum consistent with the school’s mission and goals.
Plan and deliver lessons aligned with progressive teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
Create and implement a balanced program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth.
Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge by each student’s ability.
Conduct ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual students’ needs, such as students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
Plan, coordinate rehearsals, and direct students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom.
Participates in extracurricular activities to ensure a positive school culture and provide support for students.
Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn current educational developments by researching and seeking professional development opportunities.
Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities and achievements.
Encourage parental involvement in students’ education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
Select and acquire appropriate music supplies and instrumental equipment, maintain inventory records, and ensure equipment is in good working order.
