Middle School Assistant Principal

Among other responsibilities, our Middle School Assistant Principal has the opportunity to:

✓ Foster the continued implementation of our Nishimachi Pillars of Learning (Inquiry Driven, Personalized, Community-Oriented).

✓ Promote academic excellence, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their learning.

✓ Bring their innovative approaches to teaching and learning to the school community.

✓ Be a consistent and visible leader amongst middle school students, teachers and parents.

✓ Liaise with teachers, parents and students on Middle School issues.

✓ Collaboratively work with the school Admissions team regarding new applicants.

✓ Organize and oversee our Middle School programs of Advisory and Exploratory.

✓ Lead Student Council, be responsible for overseeing grade level Field Trips, lead the organization of Middle School assemblies and lead the Grade 9 graduation process.

✓ Team with our High School Transitions Coordinator to ensure our students have every opportunity to
attend the school of their choice in Grade 10.

✓ Actively contribute to the Learning Leadership Team to assist in planning and executing divisional and school-wide initiatives for professional learning

✓ Work closely with the School Principal to provide support, context, thought partnership, and collaboration on matters affecting the Middle School

✓ Overseeing the recruiting and organization of our Nishimachi substitute teacher list.
