Position: School Counsleor

School Counselor (K-12)
Role:
To provide Christ-centered, biblically-based counseling and support for students and families, while fostering social-emotional growth in alignment with the school’s mission and values. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Offer counseling and emotional support to students, utilizing a biblical framework to address their needs.
– Serve as the Child Safeguarding Team Lead, including preparing agendas and leading quarterly Child Safeguarding Team Meetings.
– Coordinate and lead Child Safeguarding responses, including initial assessments, safety plans, and follow-ups.
– Collaborate with principals to develop and implement school-wide social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives.
– Facilitate parent communication by contributing to the OCSI Connections quarterly newsletter with relevant updates and resources.

Qualifications:
– Meet or exceed board-mandated qualifications (B2.2.1).
– Possess appropriate training and/or experience in counseling; an advanced degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
– Demonstrate a commitment to biblical principles in counseling and education.
– Have the ability to work effectively with students from kindergarten through grade 12.
– Be willing to complete additional duties as assigned.
