The successful candidate will:
Foster the continued implementation of our Nishimachi Pillars of Learning (Inquiry Driven, Personalized, Community-Oriented).
Experience teaching through an inquiry pedagogy.
Promote academic excellence, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their learning.
Bring their innovative approaches to teaching and learning to the school community.
Differentiate instruction effectively according to data analysis to meet a variety of students’ individual needs
Collaborate effectively in a team to plan instruction, analyze data and create assessments
Create and use a variety of diagnostic, formative and summative assessment tools to measure learning
Contribute to and document curriculum development/review, in alignment with standards (CCSS, NGSS,
AERO, ISTE)
Design and document lessons aligned to unit goals and standards that use a variety of strategies, i.e.
technology and student-centered approaches
Build strong, positive relationships with their students’ families
Communicate frequently and effectively with students’ families about their progress and needs.
Qualifications we are looking for:
Experience teaching through an inquiry pedagogy | Innovative use of digital tools in the classroom | Bachelors’ degree | Minimum of three years full-time teaching position in a K-12 school | Current teacher registration | Appropriate child protection certification or evidence of clearance
