We are currently seeking an experienced IB Science Teacher to join our Science Department at the Middle and High School level. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality science instruction to our students while promoting critical thinking, problem-solving skills and creativity.

    Shinagawa International School (SIS) is seeking School Bus Assistants who ride on a school bus with students in the afternoon. School Bus Assistants are responsible for taking attendance, making sure all students’ safety during their ride, sending them to parents at each bus stop, and contacting parents by phone when necessary.

    Work Location: Route 1:

    From SIS Tokyo Campus– Shinagawa – Meguro-Shinjuku-Ikebukuro

    Work Location: Route 2:

    From SIS Tokyo Campus – Odaiba – Ariake – Shinonome – Toyosu – Tatsumi – Shinkiba

    Work Location: Route 3:

    Shibuya -Aoyama – Akasaka – Hiroo -Shirokane Takanawa –Shibaura –Konan

    Hours:

    Weekdays : either 16:00-17:30 or 15:00-16:30
    (3 or 4 days a week is also possible)

    Payment:

    3000 yen/one time

    Job Description

    At Shinagawa International School, we are looking for a Japanese Language & Literature Teacher for our Junior and Senior High School students.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Teaching Japanese Language (Kokugo) and Japanese Literature
    • Preparing lesson plans and creating teaching materials
    • Providing student support and Japanese language guidance (including after-school support)
    • Planning and organizing school events
    • Communicating with parents

    Required Qualifications

    • A teaching license for Japanese 中高等学校 教諭免許状【国語】 in Middle School / High School in Japan
    • Teaching experience
    • Business-level English proficiency (as communication with teachers and students is mainly in English; classes will be taught in Japanese)

    • Understanding and adaptability to diverse cultures

    Working Hours & Holidays

    Working Hours:

    • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (7.5-hour workday)
    • Minimal overtime
    • Monday – Friday (weekends off)

    Annual Leave: 150+ days off per year

    • Full weekends off (Saturday & Sunday)
    • Winter vacation: ~3 weeks (e.g., December 21 onward)
    • Spring vacation: ~9 days
    • Summer vacation: ~1.5 months
    • Autumn vacation: ~1 week
    • Golden Week: ~10 days
